Yesterday, 27th of January, was the UN International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. Some 6-17 million (depending in which definition of “Holocaust” you chose to use) people died in the hands of Nazi cruelty; and those who lived were never the same again.
It’s on the list of things you learn about in school, but never really gets. No matter how many pictures you see, stories you read or concentration camps you visit. Human brutality has (seemingly) no limit. So I’ll write, as so many people before me, hoping someone will listen this time; never, never, never again.
